Fandom 5: Fave Fandom Accessories I Own

fandom.5.fridayIt’s Friday, and that means it is time for another Fandom 5 post! This week is all about my favorite fandom accessories. While there is a TON of stuff out there that would love to someday call my own, today I’m talking about the stuff that I own and love. Here are my top 5 favorite fandom accessories:

1. My Marvel notebook

I use this puppy for just about everything, note taking, random journaling, blog planning, shopping list, or anything else I can think of. I keep this notebook in my purse so I can have it with me wherever I go. I picked it up at Wal-Mart, of all places, for just a few bucks, and it has been one of my favorite things ever.

2. My Harry Potter Ring

I am completely obsessed with this ring. It is so cute and understated, and it’s a surprisingly durable ring. My only complaint is that I frequently stab myself with the lightning bolt, but even with that added amount of danger, this ring is still one of my very favorite bits of wearable fandom.

3. My Supernatural tee

Part of what makes this shirt so awesome is the fact that I won it from a monthly drawing from So Geekin’ Awesome. Aside from the “major award” status, I just love this shirt. It doesn’t necessarily scream out fandom, which I like, so it makes me feel a bit more comfortable wearing it in everyday, non-con/non-geeky situations. However, every single time I wear it I always have Supernatural fans come up to me talking about how much they love the shirt and the show.

4. My Han Solo Business Card Case

So there isn’t an actual Han Solo included, but it’s still so awesome.

I love this thing so much, and I show it off whenever I get the chance. It is a really sturdy business card holder, it fits my Distracted Blogger business cards in it seamlessly (photographic evidence included for your convenience), and it is just so freakin’ cool looking.

I can totally see why Jabba thought this was such a cool piece of wall art to have.

5. TARDIS Shower Curtain

photo (1)I never really thought I would enjoy having a giant, fandom-screaming shower curtain, but I absolutely love it. Nothing can make your decidedly smaller-on-the-inside apartment shower feel a bit more mysterious and exciting like slapping a TARDIS door on the front of it, amirite?

Honorable mention: My Supernatural wallet.

    1. You totally should! 🙂 Hot Topic has some pretty fun Supernatural stuff (where I got the wallet), and there are tons of fun fandom tee-shirt places like So Geekin’ Awesome that have some really creative SPN (and basically any other fandom EVER) stuff.

  1. I have that shower curtain!! We haven’t actually put it up yet–We moved in well over a year ago, but with two small kids, we’ve really dragged our feet finishing setting up the basement, but I bought it for the bathroom down there off the will-be-very-movie-themed (numerous framed movie posters, movie prop replicas on display, Star Wars coasters, etc.) family room. Still brainstorming what else we can do to turn the bathroom into a TARDIS! 🙂

I love geeky accessories. I have mostly geeky tees, and made myself a bunch of necklaces (Doctor Who, Star Wars, Firefly, LOTR, BSG, etc.), and I think my favorite accessories are the Firefly and Doctor Who purses I made for myself (I wrote up a tutorial here: ). It’s how I make friends….we met a fantastic family at our church who approached me after they noticed my Tenth Doctor shirt and TARDIS purse–they invited us over to watch the Christmas special, since we don’t have cable!

BTW, I love your Fandom 5 posts. I usually don’t have time to comment, because I mostly skim while chasing my kids around the house, but I always get excited to see the email you’ve put up another one! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

    1. Those bags are amazing! I might have to try to make myself one (though I’ll be honest–sewing freaks me out). Geeky accessories are great conversation starters, aren’t they? Such a cool way to make friends! 🙂 And thanks for the note about my posts. I’m glad you enjoy them! Good luck finishing up your basement. It sounds like it will be quite the place when it’s all done!
