I’ve made it no secret that I suck at cosplay. So unlike last year’s Denver Comic Con, I’ve decided to stick more to my game plan for last year‘s GeekGirlCon, and attend the con in everyday cosplay. Much like GGC, I’m going to the con with a press badge (woo-HOO!), so I don’t really want to be running about the con, trying to get my Lois Lane on in some uncomfy, bulky, hot cosplay.
So everyday cosplay it is! I’ve been thinking of the different outfits I’d like to try over the three days at the con, and I’ve been able to narrow them down to a few finalists. Take a peek:
I love Black Widow so much, and I’ve wanted to wear a Black Widow-inspired outfit for quite a while now. Also, I finally plopped down the money and bought the Her Universe Black Widow jacket from ThinkGeek (Her Universe was sold out in my size). So I feel like this one is almost meant to be. My only concern is that it might get a little toasty at the con in the jacket.
I’ve mentioned that I was watching Breaking Bad for the first time over the Walking Dead hiatus. And if you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that I managed to zip through that entire show in a little over a month. So while I’m super sad that I’ve managed to already finish what was arguably one of the best shows on television EVER, the show also really inspired me to create a Heisenberg everyday cosplay look. The only problem is, with the exception of the boots, tights, and the specs, I don’t own anything remotely Water White/Heisenberg-ish.
I love Wanda/Scarlet Witch’s look from Age of Ultron. This outfit wouldn’t be too hot to wear in a crowded convention center, and it would be super comfy to move around in. I also own most of the pieces for this look. Now if I could only get that mind control stuff down, I’d be set…
This is another look that I just love, and one that would be cool enough for the con. Sadly, I don’t own that awesome tank, and it’s sold out from the store. I could make the outfit work without that tank, but I just love that thing. Regardless, this one is another easy look, and I just love Hawkeye–movie and comics version.
There’s been a lot of Marvel love in this post, but this Vader look is one of my favorite everyday cosplay looks I’ve pulled together. This one would be incredibly easy, but also incredibly cute. I’ve been wanting to make this outfit work since I first pulled it together–I just need the ring and the hoodie.
Whether you call him the Hood, Green Arrow, the Vigilante, or Oliver Queen, you have to admit that he’s got a pretty sweet, superhero style. Though I love Ollie’s vigilante look, this is another look that I’d have to basically build from scratch. However, it’s also one I’d probably wear a lot if I do it well, so it’s a toss-up.
What are your favorites? Should I try an outfit that I didn’t mention? What are some of your favorite everyday cosplay looks? Let me know in the comments! Also, if you’re planning on going to Denver Comic Con, let me know! I’d love to say hey! If you haven’t bought your ticket to the con yet, you should definitely buy your tickets now–they’re going fast!
