Everyday Cosplay: Dana Scully

I’ve started watching The X-Files on Netflix for the first time ever, and I must admit that I am utterly and completely obsessed with that show. It’s suuuuper dated (the first season premiered in 1993–that was over 20 years ago!!! #old), but apart from some nineties-tastic style and a lack of iPhones, the stories themselves don’t feel old. The writing is brilliant, the characters pull you in immediately, and the show just sucks you in. Because of how much I love it, I decided to pull together an everyday cosplay look that pays tribute to the one and only Special Agent Dana Scully (complete with glasses inspired by her rad 90s specs).  Everyday Dana Scully

Have you seen The X-Files before? When did you start watching the show? Do you relate with Mulder of Scully more? Let me know in the comments!

  1. When the show first aired, my parents were obsessed, but I’d leave as soon as the show got too scary for me. (When I was a kid, this was usually about 10 minutes in). I’ve since done a re-watch and decided that Scully is my Patronus. I am always the cynical one who comes out with things like “no, I don’t think that oil pulling has any science behind it” and “I doubt sunscreen causes cancer” and “you should probably vaccinate your kids.” I am constantly linking people to Snopes articles and talking them down from wacky theorums. (I had to tell someone once that no, eating banana bruises don’t cause cancer). When Mulder goes on some tangent and she looks exasperated, I’m RIGHT THERE WITH HER. BLESS THIS WOMAN.

  2. I used to watch this as a young kid when it was on t.v. It made me want to become an FBI agent when I “grew up”.. Never happened, though 😉

I loved Mulder’s nutty alien obsession. I felt so bad for him, but I wanted to believe!
