Everyday Cosplay: Indiana Jones

I’m an editor and a writer, so usually my daily excitement doesn’t stray too far beyond dealing with a dangling participle or fixing a dead link in a post. Still, there was definitely a time in my life when I craved a job that brought a hearty amount of adventure. I thought it would be so cool to be an archaeologist. I even practiced the archaeologist’s creedo:

Even though I told myself that I understood that a regular 9-5 for an archaeologist wouldn’t look anything like a typical day for Indiana Jones, I secretly hoped it would. I took an archaeology class in college, and sadly, I realized that the job simply didn’t have the excitement, Nazi-fighting, and Holy Grail snatching thrills that I hoped. So I decided archaeology was not for me. Indiana Jones, on the other hand, most definitely is always going to be something I’m obsessed with. To pay tribute to my favorite a-typical archaeologist, I’ve created this everyday cosplay look:
Everyday Indiana Jones

Did you ever want to be an archaeologist because of Indiana Jones? Did you ever pursue a career or education based on inspiration from a movie or TV? Let me know about it in the comments!

  1. I took an archaeology class in college, and it bored me to tears (we had an entire class on the history of corn). Why did Indiana Jones have to make it look so fun?!?

    1. I stuck out my archaeology class for like a week or two. He spent forever talking about the contents of the dirt in the area around the university. I about poked my eyes out due to boredom, so I transferred to a anthropology class with a professor who looked like John Denver. It was MUCH better. 🙂
